It began more than a decade ago, this friendship of ours, and it's grown and flourished all the while. Our children, no longer toddlers, are now teens & tweens. Our husbands a little "rounder", our hair a bit more grey{well, mine is anyway}. Cars, homes, and even jobs have come and gone; but, not this beautiful friendship.
Through the years, with all of life's ups & downs, this friendship still remains. It's a bit worn and weathered, perhaps, but it's cherished and comfortable. A friendship that blesses us with so many gifts...laughter, joy, tears, warmth, fun, trust, generosity, love and kindness...time and time again.
A friendship carried into the next generation. Our children are not only growing up, but they've grown together. Our two oldest girls...a BFF to one another . Our younger two share a sibling-like connection. My daughters refer to Janna & Connor as their cousins. Family friends who, quite simply, have become family to us. And it is my hope, my fervent wish, that these children of ours will continue their friendship, this familial connection, long after Sheila & I are gone.

"Many people will walk in and out of your life, but only true friends leave footprints in your heart."

Tears roll down my face. Thank you dear friend for such beautiful words. Love you!
Loved taking the kids to New Moon. Seeing and hearing their excitement. Loved how they are BFF's too!
oh, a true friend of the heart...how precious is that? how blessed the watershed into the next generation! beautiful.
How wonderful Leah that you have such a special friend in Sheila!! My bestie and I started the (hopefully) tradition of taking our families on vacation together this past Summer because we too want our children and husbands to be close since we are such dear friends!
Have a blessed and wonderful Thanksgiving!
