A little spinning wheel...a Christmas gift for me from my brother and sister-in-law. Janie, my sister-in-law, found it and bought it for me a few weeks before she died. Oh how this last gift made me cry. Tears of sorrow and tears of joy flowed together...the sorrow comes from knowing Janie is gone and we'll share no more Christmases with her. But, the joy, that comes from feeling the love & kindness she gave me. Janie was a "grande dame" of garage sales; she could find the coolest stuff and get the best bargains. Once in a while, she would pick up a "treasure" just for me simply because she figured I'd love it. And so, this spinning wheel is my last little treasure from her. My sister-in-law Janie grew up with five sisters; but she had room in her heart for another "sister"...me. So really, that is her best gift to me ~ the gift of her love and "sisterhood". And it is a gift that will last me a lifetime.
