The girls had a mini-Spring Break...just a long weekend really...so the four of us set off for a short roadtrip and went to Omaha. We shopped, we dined, we walked & talked, laughed & explored. Just some good ol' fashioned family fun!
Spent some time at the zoo {the only photos I took during our trip}...
It was an enjoyable day, but a bit on the chilly side. Not sure I'd recommend going to the zoo in mid-March. Our first stop was the Desert Dome. Why? Because, like the actual desert, it was warm!
like this bird, the Blue Belly Roller, so bright & beautiful
and this cute thing, a Klipspringer, hanging out with the meercats
and some boars {javelinas?}
and a quick-moving cheetah
Outside the dome, we trekked around the zoo finding all sorts of wild residents. There were birds...
chimpanzees
gorillas
rhinos
an adorable orangutan
and one unusual "critter" we just can't explain!
*Omaha Zoo, Part 2 coming soon!
