Oftentimes, the way I get through the chill of winter {or several gloomy days of rain}, is to recall memories of sunnier days spent...
like the day we strolled through Central Park two summers ago. They say that New York is "the city that never sleeps" and yes, there is constant commotion.
Yet, tucked among the skyscrapers, lies a peaceful place...a sort of sanctuary.
On any given day, there are all kinds of people and activites in Central Park. This particular day there were workers unwinding after a day at the office, couples on blankets basking in the glow of their love the sun, joggers, cyclists, even passengers{tourists}riding in horse-drawn carriages...various vendors selling ice cream, lemonade, and sno-cones...numerous games of baseball and frisbee tag...all in all, a very busy spot.
And still, acres and acres of beauty and tranquility...
It was the perfect place to rest our weary feet {after what seemed like miles & miles of walking in NYC}, enjoy some quiet time, and appreciate the nature of it all.
For me, it was like being in a world within a world...a girl could actually forget she was surrounded by hundreds of buildings, tons of asphalt, and millions of people. It was magical.
Have you seen the movie Enchanted? Remember the scene where Amy Adams' princess character sings & dances happily through Central Park?? My day there was almost that magical...not quite, but almost:)
And the pearl within the oyster...
a day of sunshine and sightseeing...all spent with some very special someones.

That's a great coping mechanism. It's on my bucket list. Your pics were gorgeous. Ah someday...at least I live closer than I did.
