Nestled Inn

Just past these roses and behind the tree, I discovered a cozy little bird's nest while out in the yard taking pictures one morning.

Underneath the pool deck, nestled in a corner, the nest is protected from the elements but allows its occupants a bird's-eye viewI'm not sure who among our fine-feathered friends was the crafty carpenter because the nest seems to be abandoned for the season.

However, judging by the dozens that hovered over our heads all summer long, I'm guessing this humble abode was sanctuary to some swallows.  Safely tucked away, now the nest {and I} will spend the winter impatiently awaiting the arrival of spring & some sweet songbird to claim it for its own.

cute post. i know, just thinking about the weather that is ahead of us makes me sad. i am not a winter lover at all. i could fly away to florida for a few months and come back when spring is in full bloom.
