Footprint Friends

"Many people will walk in and out of your life, but only true friends will leave footprints in your heart."
{Eleanor Roosevelt}

Over fourteen years ago, this precious family did just that...they walked into my life, became true friends, and their footprints are all over this heart of mine.
Sheila and her crew are not just friends to my family and me. And they are more than "family friends"...they have become, quite simply, family to us.
Our children have grown from toddlers to teenagers together. Sheila's two kiddos call me "Aunt Leah" {which means the world to me} and my children think of Janna & Connor as their cousins.

My hubby Brett and Ken recently began working together for the same company.  And Sheila & I...well...I'm pretty sure we can finish each other's sentences!
We've shared joys and sorrows, ups & downs, successes & failures.  We know each other well and we still like being around each other.  We hug, we argue, we laugh, we cry.  And no matter what, like families do, we have each others' backs.  So yes, this dear family has left some footprints on my heart...and I {and Brett & Brynn & Reilly} will never be the same.

 *We also celebrate holidays and birthdays with each other...today is Sheila's special day.  Happy Birthday to you, my dear friend!!
